I built MILO, a free-roaming quadruped robot that walks with a neural net, remembers you, and borrows brains. It keeps Sesame's 3D-printed frame, 8× MG90 servo layout, and expressive OLED face, and replaces everything else: the ESP32 gives way to a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W with a camera, stereo microphones, a speaker, and an IMU. MILO walks with a reinforcement-learning-trained neural network, stores everyone it meets in an on-robot knowledge graph, and gets its intelligence (LLM, speech, vision) from any GPU machine on your LAN running the Milo Brain desktop app. Tech: Python, Raspberry Pi Zero 2W, Neural Network, Reinforcement Learning, SQLite, WebSocket, mDNS, Apache 2.0, I2C, I2S, Ollama, Piper TTS, Textual TUI, Python 3.11, WebSocket protocol, Vision, Knowledge Graphs. - [IIT-GPU-Manager](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/IIT-Secure-SLURM-Job-Gateway): Secure terminal gateway for SLURM GPU job submission at IIT I built a secure terminal gateway for SLURM GPU job submission at IIT. Users connect via SSH and interact with a forced-command TUI. Every action is logged to SQLite and JSONL before it is executed. The gateway provides a menu-driven interface for users to upload files, set up environments, run jobs, and monitor their queue. Tech: Python, SLURM, SQLite, JSONL, Rich, Questionary, Conda, PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, HuggingFace, SSH, systemd. - [AutoHub](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/auto-hub): Self-hosted personal automation OS for Raspberry Pi 5 I built AutoHub as a self-hosted personal automation OS for my Raspberry Pi 5. It bundles a web terminal, plugin runner, Docker manager, n8n workflow integration, file browser, and Telegram notifications into a single Docker Compose stack. I wanted a simple way to manage my home automation, workflows, and development projects from a single interface. Planning to release this as OSS but since I'm also fully using this I have reduce the security vulnerabilities. Tech: Next.js, NestJS, Node.js, Docker, N8n, PostgreSQL, Redis, Cloudflare Tunnel, WebSocket, Express, Tailwind CSS, Passport, JWT, Telegram Bot API, TanStack Query, Zustand, date-fns, Linux. ## Other projects - [VibeCheck [Chrome Extension]](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/web-design-prompt-extension): I built VibeCheck to bridge the gap between spotting visual layout bugs and fixing them. It's a Chrome Extension available on the chrome web store, built with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 (Manifest V3) that lets me ins... - [ImgHarvest](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/img-harvest-ballerina): I built ImgHarvest to provide a seamless AI-powered image dataset building experience. It works by having an AI agent refine user search queries, fetching images via a SerpApi integration, and using parallel client-side processing to package the selected images into a ZIP file. The project leverages a modern web and microservices stack to deliver this experience. - [Local-QWEN2.5-runner](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/Local-QWEN2.5-runner): I built a Python-based utility script to automate Java code completion using a local Large Language Model. It leverages Ollama to process Java source code and complete tasks while following strict formatting rules. The script offers both a GUI and CLI interface for easy use. - [Visionslide](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/vision-slide): VisionSlide v2.1 is a Python-based hands-free presentation controller that uses your webcam as a gesture interface. Built with OpenCV and PyAutoGUI, it detects vertical hand movements to trigger 'Up' and 'Down' key presses, enabling smooth slide or document navigation. A CustomTkinter UI, visual feedback, and adjustable sensitivity enhance usability. - [vid2oled](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/vid-to-oled-esp32): I built a tool that converts video files into C++ code arrays for playback on an OLED display connected to an Arduino or ESP32. I take any video file and convert it into a frames.h header file containing raw PROGMEM byte arrays, plus a ready-to-use sketch.ino that plays the animation on your OLED display. I require Python 3.10+ and use pip to install dependencies. - [ReImage Agent](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/ReImage-Agent): I built a high-quality cartoon image generator using AI-powered image generation. It transforms portraits into cartoons with a white background and studio lighting. The app uses the Google Gemini API and supports drag and drop upload, automatic retry, and secure API key management. - [Imposter Game](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/Imposter-Game-But-Customized-V2): Built using React and Vite, this custom Imposter Game is my answer to the trend of paywalled gaming apps. I created this project to provide a completely free, feature-rich alternative where users can enjoy all modes without payment. Hosted on GitHub Pages, it ensures a seamless and accessible experience for everyone to play together. - [Dev-Pulse API](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/dev-pulse-api): Dev-Pulse is a cloud-native BFF service that aggregates GitHub API data to generate a live Dev-Pulse Score. Built with Ballerina Swan Lake and hosted on WSO2 Choreo, it securely injects tokens at runtime, enabling real-time portfolio insights without exposing sensitive data. - [Flood-Watch [NullProduct]](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/NullProduct-VERTEX25): Flood-Watch is a real-time, offline-capable flood warning system designed to protect vulnerable communities in Sri Lanka. Winning runners-up at the Vertex'25 IoT competition, we built it using Edge Computing on ESP32 Magicbit and Ultrasonic Sensors to detect flash floods instantly. It ensures life-saving alerts even when internet connectivity fails. - [Keyboard Macro Writer](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/keyboard-macro-writer): I developed this Python-based Keystroke Simulator to automate data entry with a human touch. Utilizing pynput for precise keyboard control and tkinter for an intuitive GUI, the tool lets me pre-record text and replay it with randomized delays. My goal was to create a seamless way to mimic natural typing patterns, making automated inputs indistinguishable from manual keystrokes. - [Apple Photo Sorter](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/Apple-Photo-Sorter): I developed this Python and Tkinter application because copying photos from an iPhone often results in a messy, disorganized file structure. This tool solves that by automating the backup process: it scans the chaotic source folders and neatly sorts every image into clean, year-based directories at your chosen destination, ensuring a structured archive. - [Tripwire-YOLO](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/tripwire-YOLO): I built Tripwire-YOLO as an intelligent security solution to monitor my space in real time. It allows me to draw a virtual line on a live webcam feed, triggering instant alerts and snapshots when crossed. Powered by YOLOv8 and CustomTkinter, it runs on a threaded architecture for smooth performance. - [Apple HomeKit Automation](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake/Apple-homekit-esp8266): This is a native HomeKit-integrated IoT switch that enables direct voice control over high-voltage home electronics. By implementing the Apple HomeKit Accessory Protocol (HAP) on an ESP8266, the project allows for seamless pairing with the Apple Home app via QR code. Users can trigger a physical relay to toggle appliances—such as lamps or fans—using Siri commands or automated scenes, all while maintaining local, bridge-free communication for low latency and enhanced privacy. ## Links - [Portfolio](https://daham.serenedge.com) - [CV / Résumé (PDF)](https://daham.serenedge.com/docs/DahamDissanayake-CV.pdf) - [GitHub](https://github.com/DahamDissanayake) - [LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/daham-dissanayake/) - [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/dhmdissanayake/) - [SoterCare](https://sotercare.com)
